It seems not that long ago, I was celebrating 100,000 views. Now, I don’t regularly check and obsess over my YouTube channel view-count. But this week, while trying to catch up on my replies to an ever-increasing backlog on my YouTube inbox, I noticed that my view count was in the high nines. Well, this morning, this is what I saw:
This is truly a mind-bender.
I recorded a quick video to say thanks to everyone, and to solicit some feedback for my future projects. I also talk a bit at the end about Jerry Seinfeld’s motivational technique for tricking yourself into getting things done. Don’t Break The Chain!
Play on!

Congratz!
Great job bro…. I
Thanks so much for all the helpful info. I’m starting my first pedal project this weekend (clean boost x 2). Looking forward to Your pedal video.
thanks for your vids, ESPECIALLY the capacitor and potentiometer ones!!
Congrats on 1 million! I really have learned a lot from your videos. Thank you for doing these.
Congratulations on 1 Million! I just got in the components for my DIY pedal…can’t wait for your video to come out!
sweet, i love building things and messing about, my playing is sloppy but i can do a great set up and wiring job haha.
Congrats on 1 MILLION views!! A very well deserved landmark.
You’re videos are extremely well done and among the creme de la creme on YouTube. Please keep ‘em coming!!
Congratulations!! Great channel!!! Thanks a lot!!!! in your next videos you can make a valve amp! little, 15W… is just an idea… Thanks for all!!!!! Best regards from Argentina! and sorry for my bad english! LOL
The one thing that many have attempted but no one has gotten right yet, is a REAL CABLE SHOOTOUT.
There are guys who compare a 10′ to a 15′ or 20′+ cable. We all know about cable capacitance, which skews results. It would be nice to see equal lengths of 7 or 8 of the major brands compared on how they carry the signal.
Every cable attenuates different frequencies than others. If this were well outlined, it would be brilliant. Which cable rolls off more highs? Which carries more lows, mids, etc.
You are a genuinely nice person, it’s obvious. Thank you, John!
Thank you, John !….YOUR VIDEOS ARE VERY INTERESTING AND USEFUL ! CONGRATS !
Tubes comparison would be interesting. Thanks for everything you’ve done so far!
Thanx! Your videos are so great! That’s why so many views and subscriptions too!
Congrats, can’t believe there’s someone out there who is interest in all the same stuff I am (basically a bit of everything). I don’t have time to try this stuff out myself anymore so I look forward to your videos’. Keep up the great work.
Congratulations! I really liked your vox ac15 videos
Please start with pickups and magnets comparison – that would be very interesting.
You could use the squier classic vibe telecasters – the white one has alnico3 pickups and the utterscotch one has alnico5s but other than that these are the same guitars.
And for those motivational methods- check out the Pomodoro Technique. I translated a chapter about this method for my university classes and it was very interesting.
@Eoon- thanks for the tip on Pomodoro Technique. I’ll have to give that a try!
Good deal ! you put alot of effort into your work, so very well deserved , Kudos !
Thanks for your videos. I learned a lot on different values of capacitors for tone.
Good job John, you deserve it. You explain stuff very well.
The pickup magnet comparison vid sounds VERY interesting! Can’t wait!
Pickups pickups pickups!!!
Pickups John, c’mon man, i’m foaming at the mouth.
Would be awsome with pickup design comparasion:D

you deserve more John, you helped me to repair and also to add some more features in my electric guitar, like the treble bleed cap. Thank you a lot again.
Awesome man. Thanks for your videos.
Your videos are great, thanks.
I was really helped by your videos about capacitors. I don’t think there are better comparisons available than what you posted. Thanks!
Thanks for all the info in your videos. It even felt good to watch
you video about you millioneth view. Its was good to see someone
enjoy there labor of love.
Thanks again Uncle Ted sodbusterrecords.com
CONGRATZ MY BROTHER!!!
I did the Riviera mods and couldn’t be happier. You are a scholar and a gentleman. Kudos. Well deserved. Hell I’d let ya sleep with my sister if I had one.
Best Wishes
Awesome videos!!! I’m very interested in mods for pedals. Cheers from Spain.
guitar electronics , pedal builds , pedal mods,
looking forward to more guitar mods the pedal builds and mods and was hoping maybe u can help with moding a 5 watt amp
is the roller bridge the best?
I like the roller. Stay tuned for my comparison video of TOM vs Roller, and the how-to-install it.
Love the videos. Do you know where I could find some resources for designing an equalizer pedal? I’ve looked into baxandall and gyrator circuits but I’ve kind of hit a couple walls while trying to figure out how they are designed.
Visit DIYstompboxes – there’s an EQ section in the Schematics & Layouts forum.
There’s also EQ projects/kits at BuildYourOwnClone and GeneralGuitarGadgets
Congratulations! I wish you were a bass player too. (:
If we get you to 2,000,000 views will you buy a chair and maybe a desk so you don’t have do all your projects on the floor? I’m worried about your back. Thank you for sharing all your ideas and knowledge! I love your videos.
Haha! Thanks. I’ve finally put together a backdrop and lighting setup, so my future video should have me standing tall, and more consistently lit. But I still reserve the right to work on my guitars on the floor
Nice tips!
I got so much into your videos! They are very interesting, I learned how pots work, how to do no-load pot and may more! I just subscribed to get informed about news. Keep going with that and congratulations so far.
Hello. I am seeking assistance on a problem I’ve been having with my amplifier. I am running an Epiphone Les Paul Jr. through a Fender frontman 25r and I picked up a anolog delay pedal and when the pedal is plugged in it makes a horrible screeching noise, but without the pedal it runs fine. I have also tried the pedal with multiple guitars, amps, and cables and it works fine. Do you have any idea what is wrong?
Strange. If the pedal works fine with the same guitar into another amp, then check your amp settings, try the other channel, try lower gain. If the pedal is new, return it! When I’m building a pedal, I typically hear screech l like that when there’s a mistake or short circuit causing extreme gain.
